Cartoonist George Crenshaw (Oct. 1913 - Sept. 6, 2007)
The artist who created Belvedere, had an impressive
background in cartooning. He created more syndicated cartoon features than any
cartoonist on record. he sold his cartoons to many major publications, he had been a
ghost cartoonist for Hank Ketcham, creator of Dennis the Menace, and he had done a lot of
work in animation, including working as an assistant animator on Walt Disney's Fantasia and
Pinocchio as well as the Donald Duck cartoons. Here is a partial list of his
cartooning accomplishments.
- Creator of Belvedere, Nubbins, Nerdly, and many other cartoon features.
- Published in many major publications: National Enquirer, New Yorker, Woman's World,
Readers Digest, many others...
- Former Disney animator...worked on "Fantasia," "Pinocchio" and many "Donald Duck" shorts.
- Worked for years as a ghost cartoonist for Hank Ketcham ("Dennis the Menace").
- Comic book artist worked on many Dell titles featuring Woody Woodpecker, Disney characters,
Bugs Bunny and others.
- Has won numerous cartooning awards.
